eyebobs Expands Brick and Mortar Retail with First Florida Location in Orlando

eyebobs, a Minneapolis-based eyewear brand for the irreverent and slightly jaded, is proud to announce plans to smash through the traditional eyewear retail model with the opening of its second brick and mortar location and its first location in Florida.
The brand’s expansion is led by CEO Mike Hollenstein, who brought a wealth of retail experience to drive eyebobs’ launch of its prescription eyewear offerings in 2017 and is now leading the brand to break the mold of the bland eyewear shopping experience with a new store opening at
The Florida Mall in the summer of 2018. The Florida Mall location will reside on the southeast side of the mall near Macy’s. The 1,137 square-foot space will feature the iconic and irreverent eyebobs aesthetic featuring edgy design elements with splashes of yellow and twists on some of the world’s most iconic works of art.
Bobtender℠ Stylists provide customers with a ‘no B.S.’ personal styling to help them select the frame that best suits their unique personality. Eyewear offerings will include custom prescriptions, as well as; grab-and-go options, like readers and sunglasses, in daring, distinctive shapes, sizes and color options.
eyebobs first tested the brick and mortar model in October of 2017, when they opened their retail lab at the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis. The success of the space, which included their newly launched prescription line, provided eyebobs with the momentum to move forward with their first store opening at the Mall of America in May of this year and The Florida Mall opening in late summer.
“Our retail strategy is one component of our broader awareness building campaign. Retail gives us the opportunity to bring our one-of-a-kind customer service experience to the dynamic mix of local and tourist audiences in Orlando. And, we can’t wait to arm even more consumers with the confidence to be their true selves,” explains Hollenstein.
“We chose Orlando, and specifically The Florida Mall, because of the impressive volume and diversity of shoppers from across the country and world that will walk by our store front each week. This gives us the opportunity to introduce our brand to residents and international visitors. We also believe that Orlando has the perfect demographics for our reader and prescription glasses product categories,” continued Hollenstein.
